Existing OPAs are typically based on 2D rectangular arrays or 1D linear arrays. Both approaches present a limited field-of-view (FOV) due to the presence of grating lobes when element spacing is larger than λ/2. To address need for an increased steering range, we propose new design strategy OPA system utilizing circular phased array, with substantially FOV. We using demonstrated antenna design, 820-element array. A range ΩSR calculated as solid angle 0.51π sr, and angular beamwidth 0.22°, was achieved. The array exhibits sidelobe suppression 10 dB, FOV 2π sr. Although performance by far field pattern individual chose, our achieved, best knowledge, largest reported date compared state-of-the-art integrated optical in literature.
